Who is counselling for?

Hi, I am Susie, a Christian counsellor and Trauma therapist in London.

Anyone who feels they are struggling with life would benefit from counselling.

I offer clients unconditional positive regard, meaning I automatically hold them in high respect, and I am completely non-judgemental.

I help clients identify and address presenting as well as underlying issues through empathic exploration, with psychodynamic insight, as well as using somatic techniques and working with neuroplasticity.

I am also trained in Somatic Experiencing. I am also qualified as a Clinical Trauma Professional. Below is a talk recorded on April 24th 2022, when Tosin Adio asked me to speak online to her international ladies' Christian fellowship group on Trauma and Abuse.

Testimonials

"Working with Susie Kydd was a truly transformative experience. Her attention to detail, quick insight and practical approach helped me get back on track with surprising speed. From the start she was clear about working towards specific goals within a set number of sessions, while also graciously allowing space for more time if needed - a balance that felt both focused and supportive. She has an exceptional ability to articulate what's going on, blending a deep knowledge of neuro-chemistry with a grounded understanding of human behaviour. I felt seen, heard and validated, especially around the work-related issues that brought me to therapy in the first place. Her record keeping was spot-on, she always knew exactly where we had left off, which added to the sense of safety and continuity.

"We shared a Christian faith perspective, that allowed us to engage deeply around core beliefs and gently challenge any misconceptions. The foundation was essential to me, and made our sessions even more aligned and meaningful. Her office is lovely and welcoming, but she's especially brilliant over the phone - attuned, clear and compassionate. I've referred friends, family and colleagues to her without hesitation. She knows what she is talking about and holds space with wisdom and grace. We were a great match, and I am deeply grateful."
